Aimed at making your photos and videos more festive, the platform has introduced a collection of Diwali-themed effects that reflect the rich traditions and vibrant colors associated with this joyous occasion. With the help of Meta AI, Instagram is bringing the spirit of Diwali to your social media feed.
The Restyle tool is easily accessible within the Instagram Stories interface as well as the standalone Edits app. This user-friendly feature allows you to transform your visual content creatively. To add a festive touch, simply select your photo or video and tap on the Restyle icon, which looks like a paintbrush. You will then be directed to an effects browser, where you can pick from a variety of special Diwali themes.
For static images shared on Instagram Stories, users can choose from three distinct styles: Fireworks, Diyas, and Rangoli. Each option brings an artistic overlay that will make your images pop with festive cheer. If you're working with videos in the Edits app, you can select the Restyle option after starting a new project. Navigating to the ‘Diwali’ category will present you with a selection of effects including Lanterns, Marigolds, and Rangoli, which add colorful patterns to your videos.
These cultural effects are only available for a limited time, lasting around two weeks until October 29th. This launch is not just limited to India; it also covers users in countries like the United States, Canada, Singapore, and Australia, making it a global celebration.
Moreover, for those using Ray-Ban Meta glasses, the festive experience is taken a step further. They can instantly apply Diwali-inspired visuals, such as rangoli and lights, to their captures by simply using a voice command. After taking a photo, saying “Hey Meta, Restyle This” will allow the AI to transform the picture into a festive masterpiece, which can then be viewed in the Meta AI app.
