Chandigarh Declared No-Fly Zone for Drones During Amit Shah's Visit

Union Home Minister Amit Shah's upcoming visit to Chandigarh on December 19 and 20 has prompted significant security measures, including the declaration of a "no-flying zone" for drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The "no-flying zone" will be in effect across the entirety of Chandigarh on the specified dates. Importantly, the order will not apply to law enforcement agencies, including the police, paramilitary forces, the Indian Air Force, and the Special Protection Group (SPG), which are critical for maintaining security during such events.

Violators of this order will face strict penalties under Section 223 of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, which deals with disobedience to orders promulgated by public servants, and other relevant legal provisions.
