Delhi-NCR Air Quality Woes Continue: AQI Update
The air quality in Delhi and the surrounding National Capital Region (NCR) remains a serious concern as of November 26, 2025. The Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded a severe level of 373 this morning, indicating unhealthy air for residents. Although there was a slight improvement in particulate matter levels, pollution is still significantly above the safe limits set by health organizations.
Data from aqi.in showed that the PM 2.5 level decreased from 289 to 214 micrograms per cubic meter, while the PM 10 levels also dropped but remained alarmingly high. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends PM 2.5 levels not exceeding 15 μg/m3 and PM 10 levels no higher than 45 μg/m3, highlighting the severity of Delhi’s air pollution.
Unfortunately, the forecast offers little hope, with no rain expected in the upcoming week. This absence of precipitation means that the harmful pollutants present in the air are unlikely to disperse or get washed away. Residents are left grappling with air quality akin to the effects of smoking nearly ten cigarettes a day, a staggering reality that demands attention.
Moreover, the air quality in other NCR cities has also shown some decline. Noida and Greater Noida recorded AQIs of 413 and 443, respectively, while Gurugram reported a drop from 418 to 346. Faridabad also saw a reduction from 433 to 391. However, these levels still pose significant health risks to the population.
As the toxic smog continues to blanket the city, it is crucial for Delhi residents to stay informed about air quality updates. Taking precautions such as wearing masks when outdoors and minimizing exposure to polluted air can help mitigate health risks. Public awareness and action are essential as the battle against air pollution continues in this bustling metropolis.
