Delhi-NCR’s air quality has worsened to the ‘severe’ category, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) breaching the 400 mark across several areas.
On Monday, pollution levels spiked due to calm winds and rising vehicular emissions. Localities like Anand Vihar recorded an AQI of 450, while other parts of the city saw similar alarming numbers. Experts warn prolonged exposure to such toxic air can cause severe respiratory and health issues. Authorities urge people to limit outdoor activities, especially vulnerable groups like children and the elderly, as pollution continues to choke the capital.
