Dhurandhar 2 Box Office Hits ₹900 Crore in 6 Days
Dhurandhar 2 has taken the box office by storm, achieving a remarkable ₹900 crore collection in just six days. The film, featuring the charismatic Ranveer Singh, was released on a Thursday, following a record-breaking premiere on the previous day. The release saw an impressive domestic opening of ₹145 crore, contributing to a worldwide gross of ₹240 crore from the outset.
The film's success continued through its extended four-day opening weekend, where it amassed ₹750 crore globally. Adding to its impressive haul, Dhurandhar 2 garnered ₹100 crore on Monday, followed by another strong performance on Tuesday. By the end of its sixth day in theatres, the film had earned ₹56 crore net on Thursday alone, bringing its domestic total to ₹575 crore net (₹687 crore gross).
As the film approaches the end of its first week, it is on track to exceed the ₹600-crore mark, with expectations that it could even chase down the ₹700-crore mark by Friday. The excitement around Dhurandhar 2 is palpable, especially as it races towards the ₹1,000 crore milestone globally.
In terms of box office competition, Dhurandhar 2 has surpassed the lifetime collections of several all-time blockbusters. It recently overtook Aamir Khan’s Secret Superstar (₹915 crore), Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal (₹917 crore), and Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan (₹922 crore). The film's sights are now set on Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan and Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD, both hovering around ₹1,050 crore.
Besides Ranveer Singh, the film features a stellar supporting cast, including R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the spy thriller is a sequel to the original Dhurandhar, which itself earned an impressive ₹1,300 crore worldwide and continues to play in theatres even three months after its December release.
With its engaging storyline, strong performances, and high production values, Dhurandhar 2 is expected to surpass the achievements of its predecessor and set new records in the Indian film industry.
