Dhurandhar Box Office Hits 702 Crore!
Dhurandhar, featuring the charismatic Ranveer Singh, is currently dominating the box office, achieving an impressive collection of Rs 702 crore worldwide in just two weeks. On its 14th day in theaters, the film earned Rs 23 crore, elevating its domestic total to Rs 460.25 crore. This remarkable performance has positioned Dhurandhar as the second biggest Hindi grosser of 2023, trailing only behind Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava.
The film is on a record-breaking spree, with 25 records already shattered. The next significant milestone for Dhurandhar is to surpass the earnings of Aamir Khan’s PK, which amassed Rs 792 crore globally upon its release. As the film continues to attract audiences, the excitement around whether it can achieve this feat is palpable.
However, sustaining this momentum may prove challenging, especially with the impending release of James Cameron's Avatar Fire and Ash, which is expected to draw large crowds. The previous Avatar film had a strong opening in India, earning Rs 40.3 crore in 2022, and ultimately grossed Rs 391 crore in the Indian market. This competition means Dhurandhar has to navigate a tough landscape to maintain its box office dominance.
Additionally, the release schedule is packed, with Dinesh Vijan’s Ikkis already pushed to January, and Karan Johar’s Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri set to debut on December 25. This crowded environment could impact the film's ongoing performance.
Fans are also looking forward to the sequel of Dhurandhar, which is slated for release in March, generating additional buzz around the franchise. As the film's journey unfolds, audiences await to see if it can not only maintain its current success but also set new benchmarks in the Indian film industry.
