Avenue Supermarts, the operator of DMart, saw its shares drop by 7.2% to ₹4,241 on the NSE after posting lower-than-expected Q2 FY25 results.
The company reported a 5.78% rise in net profit to ₹659.44 crore, up from ₹623.35 crore a year ago, while revenue surged 14.41% to ₹14,444.50 crore. However, expenses increased by 14.9% to ₹13,574.83 crore. Despite opening six new stores and operating 377 stores by September 2024, the results fell short of market expectations, leading to a significant stock decline.
