ED Raids Amazon and Flipkart Vendors Over FEMA Probe

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided 15-16 locations linked to vendors selling on Amazon and Flipkart as part of a Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) investigation. These raids targeted vendors in Delhi, Gurugram, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru. The ED’s probe is focused on the financial dealings of “preferred” sellers on these platforms. Previously, antitrust investigations found Amazon and Flipkart violated competition laws by favoring select vendors, pushing steep discounts, and controlling product listings. The ED is examining whether these vendors are involved in illegal financial practices.
