FASTag Annual Pass: 200 Trips for ₹3,000!
Get ready for a smoother ride on India's highways! The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is set to introduce the FASTag Annual Pass starting August 15, coinciding with Independence Day. This initiative aims to simplify and reduce the cost of frequent highway travel for commuters.
For a one-time fee of ₹3,000, owners of private cars, jeeps, and vans can enjoy up to 200 free toll trips over the course of a year. This pass will allow vehicles to bypass designated toll plazas on national highways and expressways managed by NHAI. It is a fantastic opportunity for those who frequently travel on major routes like the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway or the Mumbai-Nashik highway.
The process to obtain the FASTag Annual Pass is straightforward. Travelers can link it to their existing FASTag, which must meet specific eligibility conditions. There is no need to purchase a new FASTag; simply visit the Rajmarg Yatra app or the official NHAI/MoRTH website, log in with your vehicle details, and make the payment online.
Once the ₹3,000 payment is confirmed, the pass will typically be activated within two hours. Each time your vehicle passes through an NHAI or MoRTH-managed toll plaza, one trip will be deducted from your FASTag Annual Pass balance.
However, it's essential to understand that the pass is non-transferable and non-refundable. It is linked to a specific vehicle, and once it expires after 200 trips or one year, you will need to reapply manually to renew it. Also, while the FASTag continues to operate normally on state highways, this annual pass only applies to designated national highways and expressways.
The FASTag Annual Pass is a significant step towards making highway travel more convenient and cost-effective for Indian commuters. With its launch on Independence Day, it reflects a commitment to enhancing road travel across the nation. So mark your calendars and get ready to hit the road with savings!
