Foreign Airlines Face Rs 10,000 Cr GST Demands, IATA Warns of Aviation Risks

Ten foreign airlines have received GST demands totaling Rs 10,000 crore from India's Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI). The International Air Transport Association (IATA), representing over 330 airlines, urged the government to resolve the issue, warning it could harm India's aviation potential.

IATA criticized the GST demands on foreign carriers' headquarters expenses as flawed and inconsistent with international practices. IATA stressed that Indian airlines face no similar demands abroad and called for a clear, consistent policy to support India's aviation industry.
