Four public sector banks—Canara Bank, Indian Bank, Bank of India, and EXIM Bank—have paid a total dividend of Rs 6,481 crore to the government for the financial year 2023-24.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman received these cheques, including Rs 2,514.22 crore from Bank of Baroda, Rs 1,838.15 crore from Canara Bank, Rs 1,193.45 crore from Indian Bank, and Rs 935.44 crore from Bank of India. Additionally, EXIM Bank contributed Rs 252 crore. This substantial dividend underscores the strong financial performance of these public sector banks.
