As AppDynamics grew, it eventually employed around 2,000 people and caught the attention of tech giant Cisco, which acquired the company for an astonishing $3.7 billion in 2017. This deal solidified Bansal’s reputation as a leading entrepreneur of Indian origin in Silicon Valley.
Today, Bansal is at the helm of multiple ventures, including his latest company, Harness, which focuses on software delivery automation and employs over 1,300 people. He also operates a venture capital firm and another tech company, contributing significantly to job creation in the industry. Bansal is a strong advocate for hiring Americans while also recognizing the value of skilled immigrants in the workforce.
After five years as a permanent resident, he became a US citizen, a moment of personal pride that did not alter his professional goals. He cherishes his Indian heritage while embracing his identity as an American.
