Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has retracted its recent advisory that directed food businesses to remove 'A1' and 'A2' milk-related claims from product packaging.
This withdrawal means that companies can continue marketing their products with references to 'A1' and 'A2' types of milk. A1 and A2 milk differ in their beta-casein protein composition, influenced by cow breeds. The initial advisory had raised concerns within the dairy industry, but with this reversal, businesses can maintain their product labels as before.
