The Union Cabinet has granted a 4% increase in dearness allowance (DA) for central government employees and pensioners from July 2023, aligning with the 7th Central Pay Commission's recommendations. Additionally, the Cabinet sanctioned a 7% rise in Minimum Selling Price (MSP) for six key Rabi crops for the marketing season of 2024-25.
The government also allocated Rs 20,773.7 crore for a transmission line to evacuate power from a 13 GW renewable energy project in Ladakh. This move aims to benefit around 48.67 lakh central government employees and 67.95 lakh pensioners. Wheat MSP saw the highest increase, rising to Rs 2,275 per quintal for 2024-25.
