Government Initiates Search for New SBI Chief

The government has begun the process to appoint a new chairman for the State Bank of India (SBI), as the current chief, Dinesh Khara, nears the end of his three-year term in October. The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) has invited applications from eligible candidates within SBI and other public sector banks. This role is critical as the SBI chairman oversees the country’s largest bank, playing a significant part in India's financial stability and economic growth. The selection is expected to be completed well before Khara's tenure concludes.
