HDFC Regalia Gold Credit Card: New Perks & Changes

HDFC Bank recently revamped its Regalia Gold Credit Card, introducing a mix of exciting new benefits and some changes that may not appeal to all users. Effective from July 1, 2026, cardholders can look forward to enjoying three complimentary visits to domestic airport lounges each quarter. However, there’s a catch: to unlock this perk, users must spend ₹60,000 or more in the preceding quarter.

Another notable change is in the reward points system. Currently, cardholders earn four reward points for every ₹150 spent on eligible categories. Post May 15, 2026, this will change to five reward points for every ₹200 spent. While it may seem like an enhancement, it also means that transactions under ₹200 will no longer earn any reward points, marking a slight devaluation for low-value purchases.

In addition to these changes, HDFC Bank has increased the dynamic currency conversion (DCC) markup from 1% to 1.75%. This fee applies to international transactions conducted in Indian currency, whether at international locations or with merchants based in India but registered abroad. This hike may affect frequent travelers who use their cards for international purchases.

On a positive note, the bank has introduced the Boarding Edge Program, allowing cardholders to enjoy several benefits simply by uploading their boarding pass on the Regalia Gold SmartBuy portal. Benefits include complimentary hotel room upgrades and buffet meals at select ITC Hotels, as well as a half-hour spa session at affiliated wellness centers.

However, these benefits come with specific conditions. For instance, hotel room upgrades are subject to availability and require a base category room booking. Similarly, complimentary meals and spa sessions require QR codes issued after boarding pass validation, which expire three days post-travel if unused.

Moreover, cardholders can benefit from a ₹750 discount on Uber rides to and from airports in participating cities, facilitated through DreamFolks. This is a thoughtful addition for travelers, making airport transfers smoother.

While these new features are indeed attractive, the changes in the reward system and the increased DCC markup may leave some users feeling less satisfied. Overall, HDFC's revamped Regalia Gold Credit Card offers valuable perks, but the changes might not resonate well with every customer.
