Hyundai Refutes Rs 7,300 Crore Fine Over Emission Breach Claims

Hyundai Motor India has denied reports claiming it faces a Rs 7,300 crore fine for breaching fleet emission levels. The company clarified that the media reports were based on incorrect assumptions regarding the timing of stricter regulations. The amendments to the Energy Conservation Act, which impose penalties, only came into effect in January 2023, making any earlier claims of penalties invalid. Hyundai emphasized it has not received any formal notice regarding penalties and remains committed to transparency and compliance
