The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has sanctioned India's inaugural indigenous AC and DC Combined Charging connector standard for light electric vehicles (LEVs). This milestone paves the way for a unified charging system benefiting the entire EV ecosystem, from owners to manufacturers and charge point operators.
By establishing a domestic standard, India moves beyond dependency on international protocols, fostering innovation in the EV sector. The new standard addresses the need for a standardized connector for AC & DC Combined Charging for 2 and 3 wheelers, enabling a cost-effective, interoperable charging infrastructure for LEVs.
