Indian Mutual Funds See Slowdown Despite New Offers
The Indian mutual fund industry faced a slowdown in fund mobilization in February 2025, despite new fund offers (NFOs) increasing. A report revealed that the average funds raised dropped significantly from Rs 379 crore to Rs 139 crore, marking a 63.3% decline. This dip is attributed to investors feeling uncertain due to market volatility, especially after a sharp correction in January. While some NFOs focused on sectors and themes, many investors became cautious. However, optimism remains as mutual fund houses are filing more NFOs, and experts believe that market conditions might improve soon, encouraging better investor participation.
