Indian Stock Market Takes a Hit: Sensex and Nifty Plunge
The Indian stock market is facing a significant downturn as the Sensex and Nifty indices fell sharply in early trading on Monday. The BSE Sensex dropped by 567.62 points, while the NSE Nifty fell by 188.4 points, following poor trends in the US market and ongoing foreign fund outflows. Major companies like HCL Tech and ICICI Bank were among the biggest losers, while Maruti and Mahindra & Mahindra showed some gains. Experts warn that continuous selling by foreign institutional investors, which has exceeded Rs 23,710 crore this month, along with uncertainties from US tariffs, is causing anxiety among investors.
