India's Car Sales Slowdown: Exports Rise in July
Car sales in India hit a slow patch in July 2025, although exports provided a boost. Local dealerships saw a slight dip in sales, down 0.2% from the previous year, with a total of 3,40,772 units shipped. Despite this, exports increased by 8.7%, highlighting a contrasting trend. Retail sales, however, fell by 0.81%, indicating a significant gap between supply and demand. While rural markets showed some promise due to seasonal sales, urban demand lagged behind. To drive growth during the festive season, strategies focusing on discounts and outreach will be essential.
