India is finally making big strides in clean energy, installing 18.8 GW of new solar and wind power in just the first eight months of 2024, surpassing the total for 2023.
With a target of 500 GW by 2030, India is set to meet its ambitious renewable energy goals, with forecasts predicting 34 GW installations by year-end and 62 GW by 2030. This growth will help reduce India’s carbon emissions by 2026. The country’s solar manufacturing is also growing, ensuring it can meet future energy demands well into the 2040s.
