JSW Neo Energy to Acquire O2 Power for $1.47 Billion

JSW Neo Energy, a subsidiary of JSW Energy, has announced plans to acquire O2 Power's renewable energy assets for $1.47 billion. O2 Power, backed by EQT Infrastructure and Temasek, boasts a renewable portfolio of 4.7 gigawatts (GW). This strategic acquisition aligns with JSW Energy's goal to expand its renewable energy capacity to 20 GW by fiscal year 2030, supporting India's push for clean energy. The deal is expected to close by May 26, 2025. Of the acquired capacity, 2.26 GW is projected to be operational by June 2025, with the remaining capacity anticipated by June 2027.
