JSW Steel and Posco Join Hands for Major 5 MTPA Steel Plant in India

JSW Steel, part of Sajjan Jindal's JSW Group, and South Korean steel giant Posco have agreed to a 50:50 partnership to set up a large steel plant in India with an initial production capacity of 5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).

This collaboration, announced on Tuesday, extends beyond steel, covering battery materials and renewable energy, which will be used to power the steel facility. Jayant Acharya, CEO of JSW Steel, emphasized that the joint venture would bring together two significant global steel players, creating new growth and energy possibilities in India’s industrial sector.
