Karisma Kapoor's Children Challenge Father's Will
In a gripping legal confrontation, Karisma Kapoor’s children, Samaira and Kiaan, are challenging the authenticity of their late father, Sunjay Kapur’s will. This dispute has raised significant eyebrows, especially as their lawyer highlights what he describes as "glaring blunders" within the document. Such errors include misspellings of Kiaan's name and incorrect addresses, which the lawyer argues are uncharacteristic of Sunjay, who was known for his close relationship with his children.
The Delhi High Court has resumed hearings on this contentious issue, focusing on the claim that the will may have been forged to exclude the children from Sunjay's estate. Senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, representing Samaira and Kiaan, asserts that the will lacks essential details about family assets, which raises further questions about its legitimacy.
One of the most striking accusations made in court is that the will features multiple errors, including a wrong address for Samaira. Jethmalani emphasized that such mistakes are inconsistent with Sunjay’s character, suggesting that it is implausible for a devoted father to overlook such fundamental details. "How can he misspell his son's name in multiple places?" he questioned, pointing to the nature of these discrepancies as indicative of potential forgery.
The children’s allegations extend to Sunjay's widow, Priya Sachdev, whom they accuse of orchestrating the alleged forgery. The legal team argues that the will seems to favor only one beneficiary, raising suspicions that it was crafted to prevent any challenges from Karisma and her children.
Furthermore, Jethmalani mentioned that Sunjay was in good health prior to his sudden passing and had secured his Indian property under a trust, making the circumstances surrounding the will all the more suspicious. He pointed out that the contents of the will do not align with the conversations Sunjay had with his children, which further fuels the belief that the will may not have been prepared by him.
The next hearing is set for Tuesday, as the court continues to navigate the complex layers of this emotional family dispute. As the legal proceedings unfold, they reveal not just the intricacies of inheritance laws, but also the deep-seated emotional ties that can complicate such matters.
