Maharashtra Greenlights $10 Billion Chip Factory by Tower Semiconductor and Adani Group

Maharashtra has approved a $10 billion project by Israel's Tower Semiconductor and Adani Group to establish a semiconductor fabrication plant in Panvel's MIDC Taloja Industrial area, adjacent to Navi Mumbai.

The plant will focus on producing analog and mixed-signal chips, starting with a capacity of 40,000 wafers per month in Phase 1, scaling to 80,000 wafers per month in Phase 2. Tower Semiconductor, with fabs in Israel, the US, and Japan, specializes in analog and mixed-signal processing technologies
