Mahashivratri 2025: Banks and Markets to Shut Down

Mahashivratri, a significant Hindu festival honoring Lord Shiva, falls on February 26, 2025. This special day brings celebrations and rituals across India. In observance of Mahashivratri, many banks in various cities will be closed, and stock markets including BSE and NSE will not operate, marking the first trading holiday of the year. There will be no trading in equity, derivatives, or debt segments, and also no settlement of funds or securities. However, net banking services will still be available for customers. As part of the year's schedule, there are a total of 14 stock market holidays planned for 2025.
