Mahindra Unveils Rs 4,500 Cr Electric SUV Plant in Chakan

Mahindra has launched a state-of-the-art electric SUV manufacturing and battery assembly plant at its Chakan facility, investing ₹4,500 crore. Spanning 88,000 m², this advanced hub features over 1,000 robots, automated systems, and AI-driven operations. It focuses on producing Electric Origin SUVs and high-performance batteries using Industry 4.0 technologies. The facility emphasizes gender diversity, aiming for 25% female representation, and runs entirely on renewable energy. Located in India’s largest greenfield manufacturing hub, it marks a key milestone in Mahindra’s ₹16,000 crore investment plan (FY22-FY27) to drive EV innovation and production.
