
Major Losses for Top Firms as Market Values Drop
Last week, the market faced a significant downturn, resulting in a combined loss of ₹1,65,784.9 crore for eight of the top ten most valued companies. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) experienced the largest drop, losing ₹53,185.89 crore in market value. Other major firms, including Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, and Hindustan Unilever, also saw substantial declines. The BSE benchmark fell by 628.15 points, while the Nifty dropped by 133.35 points. In contrast, Reliance Industries and Bajaj Finance managed to increase their market values, with Reliance remaining the most valued company overall, followed closely by TCS.
