Modi Hoists Saffron Flag at Ayodhya Ram Temple
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming visit to Ayodhya is generating excitement as he prepares to ceremonially hoist a saffron flag at the Ram Mandir. This event symbolizes the completion of the temple's construction and is expected to attract around 10,000 attendees. Among the notable guests will be RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The saffron flag, which measures 10 feet by 20 feet, features the radiant image of the Sun and the sacred 'Om', representing the ideals of Lord Rama. According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), this flag conveys messages of dignity, unity, and cultural continuity, embodying the essence of Ram Rajya.
The flag will be hoisted atop a 'shikhar' built in the traditional Nagara architectural style, while the surrounding 800-meter Parkota showcases a blend of northern and southern architectural traditions. Modi's visit will also include tours of various temples in Ayodhya, enriching the spiritual journey and connecting with India's cultural roots.
During his stay, Modi will perform 'darshan' and 'pooja' at multiple sacred sites, including the Ram Darbar Garbh Grah and Mata Annapurna temple. The ceremony is scheduled to take place at noon, coinciding with significant religious dates that enhance the day's spiritual significance, including the martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur.
The temple complex itself is a marvel, featuring 87 intricately carved stone episodes from Lord Ram's life and 79 bronze-cast cultural depictions, providing visitors with deep insights into India's heritage. This grand event not only marks a religious milestone but also aims to foster a sense of national unity and pride.
To ensure security during the event, around 6,970 personnel, including commandos and technical teams, have been deployed in Ayodhya. Advanced security measures, including anti-drone technology, are in place to maintain safety and order during this historic occasion.
As Ayodhya prepares for this monumental event, it reflects the importance of cultural heritage in India and the collective spirit of its people. The hoisting of the saffron flag is a celebration of faith, unity, and the rich tapestry of Indian culture.
