With an aim to transform passive viewing into a more collective experience, Netflix is launching live voting, party games, and redesigned kids' profiles.

One of the most exciting features is the introduction of real-time voting. This will allow viewers to participate actively while watching shows like the upcoming reboot of Star Search, set to launch next year. Audiences can cast their votes directly from their TVs or smartphones, adding a layer of excitement to the viewing experience. This live interaction ensures that viewers feel involved, making the outcome more engaging, as those who watch later will miss the voting window.

In addition to voting, Netflix is also set to introduce "living room party games." These games will allow users to play together using their phones as controllers, similar to popular Jackbox-style games. The company plans to roll out five interactive titles by the end of 2025, aiming to create a shared entertainment experience rather than a solitary one.

Moreover, Netflix is redesigning its homepage to offer animated and themed experiences. The first of these updates will feature a Halloween theme, followed by a holiday version in December and a Bridgerton-themed experience in the works. This fresh design aims to make the platform more visually appealing and engaging for users.

For younger viewers, the Kids profile will see significant updates, including a new layout that simplifies navigation. The "My Netflix" section will provide real-time recommendations and combine saved, watched, and liked titles for easier access. This refresh follows an earlier update for regular profiles, making it more user-friendly.

Lastly, Netflix is experimenting with short-form vertical videos aimed at mobile viewers who prefer quick clips. By testing a vertical video feed featuring scenes from various shows and films, Netflix plans to offer viewers more casual viewing options without imitating other platforms. More developments in this area are expected through 2026, signaling Netflix's commitment to innovation and user engagement.
