India's National Payments Corporation (NPCI), through its international arm NIPL, is working with over 20 countries in Africa and South America to develop payment systems similar to UPI. These initiatives, led by Ritesh Shukla, CEO of NIPL, aim for a launch by early 2027.
Talks with several nations are close to being finalized, with the goal of creating seamless, digital payment solutions. This move aligns with India's efforts to promote its UPI technology globally, revolutionizing payments in emerging economies.
