Indians could see lower petrol and diesel prices if global crude oil rates remain low for a longer time. Oil Secretary Pankaj Jain mentioned that state-run fuel companies might reduce prices if crude oil stays cheap. Recently, crude oil prices have fallen to their lowest in three years, dropping below $70 per barrel. Despite this, petrol and diesel prices in India have stayed high. The decrease in crude oil prices has not yet led to lower fuel costs for consumers. The government is also working to increase oil production from OPEC+ and buy more from cost-effective suppliers like Russia.
