PhysicsWallah Raises $210 Million Amid Struggles in the Edtech Sector

Edtech unicorn PhysicsWallah secured $210 million in a funding round led by Hornbill Capital, propelling its valuation to $2.8 billion—a 2.5x increase from its previous $1.1 billion.

This funding, involving investors like Lightspeed and WestBridge, offers a bright spot for the struggling edtech sector, contrasting sharply with Byju's ongoing challenges. PhysicsWallah plans to use the funds to expand operations and improve technology. The company, led by Alakh Pandey, aims to be fully profitable by 2025 while serving students across 18,808 pin codes.
