Premji Invest and Claypond Capital are considering a $125 million investment in Akasa Air.
The investment will fund the airline's expansion and cover payments. To facilitate the deal, the consortium has engaged Alvarez & Marsal for due diligence. The funds will result in a dilution of shares held by the Jhunjhunwala family and Vinay Dube, who currently own 65% of Akasa Air. The airline plans to achieve profitability within two years and expand to new destinations.
