Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, criticized the BJP government led by Narendra Modi for favoring crony capitalism, blaming it for India's weakened manufacturing sector, falling rupee, and record-high trade deficits.
He highlighted how these policies have resulted in high interest rates, reduced consumption, and rising inflation. Citing a report on soaring imports and trade deficits, Gandhi called out the government's alleged neglect of fair competition.
