Ratan Tata’s Will: Special Provisions for Pet Dog Tito and Longtime Butler Subbaiah

Ratan Tata, who recently passed away at 86, has left a unique will that reflects his values and relationships. Notably, Tata requested “unlimited care” for his German Shepherd, Tito, adopted around five years ago and now entrusted to his cook, Rajan Shaw. Tata also provided for his butler Subbaiah, with whom he shared a 30-year bond, and mentee Shantanu Naidu, by waiving Naidu’s education loans and relinquishing his stake in Naidu’s venture, Goodfellows. Tata’s ₹10,000 crore estate includes assets like his Alibaug bungalow and a 0.83% stake in Tata Sons, which will transfer to the Ratan Tata Endowment Foundation.
