RBI Fines Hewlett Packard and Two Other Companies for KYC Violations

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has fined three non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) for failing to comply with regulatory guidelines. Hewlett Packard Financial Services (India) Private Limited was fined ₹10.4 lakh on September 3, 2024, for violations related to Know Your Customer (KYC) norms. SMFG India Credit Company Limited received a penalty of ₹23.1 lakh on September 4 for lapses in IT and cybersecurity practices. Muthoot Vehicle & Asset Finance Limited was fined ₹7.9 lakh on September 11 for failing to follow liquidity risk management and other guidelines.
