Reliance Industries Reports Strong Q2 Growth
Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) has showcased a stellar performance in its Q2 results for the fiscal year 2026, with a net profit soaring by 14.3% to ₹22,092 crore. This impressive growth can be attributed to the robust performances in its oil, digital, and retail segments, reflecting the dynamic landscape of the Indian economy.
In the digital arena, Jio Platforms Ltd reported a substantial revenue increase of 14.9%, reaching ₹42,652 crore. The net profit for Jio also rose by 12.8%, amounting to ₹7,379 crore. This growth in the digital sector is particularly significant as Jio has successfully crossed the 500 million subscriber mark, highlighting its leadership in technology and connectivity.
On the retail front, Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd achieved remarkable growth with revenue from operations hitting ₹79,128 crore, a 19% increase. The profit for this segment surged by 21.9% to ₹3,457 crore, driven by higher volumes across various retail formats. This uptick is crucial for India's consumption-led growth, especially following recent reforms in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime, which are expected to further stimulate consumption.
RIL's consolidated gross revenue also saw a significant rise of 9.9%, reaching ₹2,83,548 crore compared to ₹2,58,027 crore in the previous year. The company’s market capitalization now stands at an impressive ₹19.17 lakh crore, illustrating its status as a leading player in India's corporate landscape.
Chairman Mukesh D. Ambani emphasized the company’s agile operations and strategic focus on domestic growth, stating that the ongoing momentum in the digital services sector and robust performance in oil-to-chemicals (O2C) reflect the structural growth of the Indian economy. He expressed confidence in the potential of new growth engines like new energy and consumer brands, which aim to build on Reliance’s legacy of industry leadership.
Overall, RIL's strong performance not only highlights its resilience and adaptability but also underscores the positive trajectory of India’s economic landscape, making it an exciting time for investors and stakeholders alike.
