RIL and Google Launch Free AI Plan for Jio Users
In a groundbreaking collaboration, Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) and Google have announced a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating artificial intelligence (AI) adoption across India. This initiative will enable eligible Jio users to access Google’s premium AI Pro plan, featuring the latest Gemini version, completely free for 18 months. Valued at Rs 35,100, this offer includes advanced tools that will enhance creativity and research capabilities for users.
RIL stated that the offer provides higher access to Google’s most capable Gemini 2.5 Pro model within the Gemini app. Users can generate stunning images and videos utilizing state-of-the-art models like Nano Banana and Veo 3.1. Additionally, it offers expanded access to Notebook LM for study and research, along with 2 TB of cloud storage.
Eligible Jio users will find it easy to activate this offer through the MyJio app. Initially, early access will be available for users aged 18 to 25 on unlimited 5G plans, with plans to swiftly expand this opportunity to all Jio customers across the country.
Furthermore, RIL has partnered with Google Cloud to broaden access to advanced AI hardware accelerators known as Tensor Processing Units (TPUs). This collaboration aims to enable organizations to train and deploy larger and more complex AI models, facilitating faster execution of demanding projects and enhancing AI adoption across India’s AI ecosystem.
RIL emphasized that this partnership will strengthen India’s national AI backbone, supporting the vision articulated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister to transform India into a global AI powerhouse. The expanded collaboration also positions Reliance Intelligence as a strategic partner for Google Cloud, promoting the adoption of Gemini Enterprise across Indian businesses.
Gemini Enterprise is described as a next-generation, unified agentic AI platform that integrates the best of Google AI for every employee across all workflows. This platform empowers teams to discover, create, share, and run AI agents securely. Reliance Intelligence plans to develop and offer its own pre-built enterprise AI agents in Gemini Enterprise, expanding the choices available to users.
According to Mukesh D Ambani, chairman of RIL, the goal is to make intelligence services accessible to 1.45 billion Indians. By collaborating with strategic partners like Google, RIL aims to ensure that India is not just AI-enabled but also AI empowered, allowing every citizen and enterprise to harness intelligent tools for innovation and growth.
