Samsung Holds Talks with Tamil Nadu Govt as 1,100 Workers Strike for Better Pay

Samsung officials met Tamil Nadu’s Industries Minister, TRB Rajaa, to discuss resolving an ongoing labour strike at the company’s factory in Sriperumbudur.

Around 1,100 of the 1,750 employees have been striking since September 9, demanding higher wages, better working conditions, and the registration of their union. Chief Minister M K Stalin has directed three ministers to mediate talks for a swift resolution. Samsung India confirmed that production is running and that they are negotiating directly with workers to resolve the issues.
