Samsung Electronics has warned workers striking at its factory near Chennai that they will not receive wages during the protest and may face termination if they don’t return to work. The workers, who have been on strike since September 9, are demanding higher wages and union recognition at the plant, which contributes about one-third of Samsung’s $12 billion revenue in India. Samsung has also taken legal action, seeking to stop the protests, but a judge urged for a swift resolution. Despite ongoing discussions, no agreement has been reached yet.
