SBI Raises Rs 7,500 Crore Through Tier-2 Bonds

SBI has successfully raised Rs 7,500 crore by issuing Basel III compliant tier-2 bonds. These bonds, offering a 7.42% interest rate, have a 15-year maturity period with a call option available after ten years and annually thereafter.

The issuance attracted strong interest, with bids totaling over Rs 8,800 crore from various institutional investors, including provident funds, pension funds, and banks. This move strengthens SBI's financial position and supports its long-term capital requirements.
