SEBI Proposes MITRA Platform to Track Forgotten Mutual Fund Investments

SEBI has proposed the MITRA platform (Mutual Fund Investment Tracing and Retrieval Assistant) to help investors trace inactive and unclaimed mutual fund folios. Many investors lose track of investments due to incomplete KYC details, outdated PAN, or physical form holdings. Inactive folios are those with no investor activity for 10 years but still hold units. Developed jointly by CAMS and KFin Technologies, MITRA will allow investors to recover forgotten investments and prevent fraud. The platform will launch a beta version for two months and be accessible via MF Central, AMC websites, and SEBI platforms.
