On Friday, India's Sensex hit an all-time high of 81,587.76, and the Nifty peaked at 24,854.80, but both indices soon declined.
The Sensex dropped 166.93 points to 81,176.53, while the Nifty fell 73.1 points to 24,727.75. Major laggards included Tech Mahindra and Tata Steel, though Infosys rose nearly 3% after posting a strong quarterly profit. Asian markets were also down, mirroring the US. FIIs bought Rs 5,483.63 crore of equities on Thursday.
