Sensex Drops Below 80,000, Nifty Nears 24,250 as Markets Decline

Indian stock markets saw a downturn Friday as the BSE Sensex dropped by 393 points to 79,672.17, while the Nifty50 dipped 142 points to 24,257.50.

The fall was attributed to ongoing foreign outflows and underwhelming earnings reports, keeping both indices in a consolidating phase. Experts noted that Nifty could remain in the 24,400-24,500 range without major positive triggers, with a drop below 24,300 possibly leading to further weakness. Major companies, including BEL, Chola Investment, and JSW Steel, are set to announce earnings, which could shift investor sentiment.
