In September 2024, India’s IPO market surged with 47 companies raising ₹16,152 crore, driven mainly by retail investors, particularly in the SME segment. Notably, 61% of these IPOs are trading above their issue prices, with Travels & Rentals seeing a 283% rise.
In the first eight months of 2024, India saw 227 IPOs that raised USD 12.2 billion, nearly tripling the amount from the same period in 2023. The Indian IPO market has outperformed the Asia-Pacific region, which recorded 575 IPOs generating USD 23.7 billion.
