Shah Rukh Khan Joins Messi's GOAT Tour in Kolkata
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has confirmed his appearance at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata for Lionel Messi’s highly anticipated GOAT Tour, which will kick off on December 13. This event is set to bring together fans of both football and Bollywood, creating a unique cultural celebration in the City of Joy.
Messi, the legendary Argentine footballer and eight-time Ballon d’Or winner, will begin his tour in Kolkata before moving on to other major cities in India. Following Kolkata, he will visit Hyderabad, Mumbai, and conclude the tour in Delhi, where he is expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Kolkata event is particularly special, as Messi will unveil a massive 70-foot statue, although this will be done virtually due to security concerns.
Shah Rukh Khan, who is also the co-owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders cricket team, expressed his excitement about the event on social media. He mentioned he wouldn't be planning his Knight events this time, focusing entirely on the Messi celebration instead. The enthusiasm around this event is palpable, with over 70,000 spectators expected to gather at the stadium.
In addition to the statue unveiling, there will be a special meet-and-greet program for sponsors, followed by a unique Argentine–Indian fusion food festival. This festival will feature dishes that combine Messi's favorite Argentine herbal tea, mate, with local Assamese flavors, alongside traditional Bengali fish delicacies like hilsa and a variety of sweets.
Moreover, a stunning 25ft x 20ft mural of Messi will be unveiled during the event. This mural is designed to celebrate the spirit of the upcoming Durga Puja festival, allowing fans to paint and leave messages for Messi at various pandal locations. The mural will be presented to Messi at Salt Lake Stadium, adding to the event's charm.
With ticket sales already underway and significant demand, this event promises to be more than just a sporting occasion; it will be a grand celebration of culture, sportsmanship, and fanfare in India.
