Smriti Mandhana's Wedding Postponed Due to Father's Health

13 Jan, 2026

Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana's wedding has been postponed due to an unexpected health crisis involving her father. The wedding festivities were taking place at their farmhouse in Samdol, Maharashtra, when her father, Mr. Srinivas Mandhana, began to show symptoms of a heart attack. Immediate action was taken, and he was rushed to the hospital where he is currently under medical observation.

According to the family, Mr. Mandhana’s condition is now stable. However, the distressing incident has led Smriti to make a heartfelt decision to postpone her wedding to music composer Palash Muchhal, which was originally scheduled for Sunday—the same day her father fell ill. Smriti shares a deep bond with her father, who has been a significant part of her life and cricketing journey.

Smriti's manager provided insights into the events, stating, “When he was having breakfast, Mr. Mandhana started feeling unwell. We initially thought it was a minor issue, but his condition worsened quickly. We decided not to take any risks and promptly called an ambulance.”

In light of her father's health, Smriti expressed her desire to wait until he fully recovers before proceeding with the wedding. The family is understandably in shock and prioritizing Mr. Mandhana's health above all else. No new wedding date has been announced yet, leaving many eagerly awaiting updates.

The pre-wedding festivities had been vibrant and full of joy, with traditional ceremonies like Mehendi, Haldi, and Sangeet already celebrated. A fun-filled cricket match between the bride and groom's teams added excitement to the celebrations, showcasing the family’s love for the sport. Social media was abuzz with videos and photos capturing these joyous moments, making the sudden shift to a postponed wedding even more poignant.

As the Mandhana family navigates this challenging time, the cricket community and fans alike extend their best wishes for Mr. Mandhana’s swift recovery. The wedding may be on hold, but the love and support surrounding Smriti and her family remain strong.
