Supreme Court Doubts ED’s Move to Attach Sahara Properties

The Supreme Court has expressed hesitation about allowing the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to attach Sahara's properties, noting that investors might not benefit.

During a recent hearing, the Court directed Sahara India to outline a plan for depositing the pending amount into the Sahara-SEBI Refund Account and to provide a list of its unencumbered properties. This case follows a 2012 Supreme Court order for Sahara to refund approximately Rs. 25,000 crores, plus 15% interest, to over two crore investors
